About Wadleys
Harry Wadley was a pioneer in radio manufacture and sold the first radios in Oxford, in 1919, engraving the cases. He began by displaying them in his father's greengrocers shop in the Causeway. He was a radio operator in the 1914-18 war who became a founder shareholder in the BBC in 1923. When radios began to be mass produced, Harry continued as a radio engineer.
